Measuring Instructions Roman Blinds
For accurate measurements please use a metal tape measure and take measurements in millimetres, this accuracy will reflect in the finished product and the overall appearance of the sited roman blind.
Choose whether you want the blind to hang inside or outside the window recess
Roman blinds can be fixed onto the face of the window frame or wall in which case allowance should be made for unobstructed raise and lower with no protruding window handles or furniture. Alternatively fitting into the lintel will allow total control of the positioning of the blind within the depth of your window recess.
Please check for the proximity of adjacent walls, furniture, window handles etc. when measuring for your blinds.
Inside recess - for blinds to hang inside the window recess: measure the
drop by taking the measurement from the top of the recess
to the window sill, in three places as shown. Measure the
width of the window recess from wall to wall, in three places
as shown. Take the smallest measurements for width and drop.
We will make all
adjustments based on your sizes to ensure your blinds fit perfectly.
Outside recess - for blinds to hang outside the window recess measure the exact area you would like the blind to cover as shown. Ideally a minimum of 51mm (2") should be added to the measurements around all 4 sides of the window recess when romans are fitted in this way.
Please note the actual width of the finished roman blind fabric will be your recess measurement less 13mm (1/2")
